Roman Harper is out with his top 5 offensive players from the SEC in the NFL Draft
Georgia’s Broderick Jones checks in at No. 5 as a “road grader” and ability to play both tackle positions on the offensive line, Harper said on the SEC Network. Jones flexibility and ankles impress Harper, and that’s why he’ll be called early because of the value of tackles.
At No. 4, Harper listed Kentucky’s Will Levis, and said he has all the attributes you look for in a quarterback, starting with confidence and moxie. Harper’s only concern is Levis plays too early in the NFL, and he’s thrust into a bad situation.
Anthony Richardson at No. 3 is Harper’s most intriguing prospect of the entire NFL Draft.
“I don’t know how great he’s going to be, I know he’s great, I wished he came back to college, but guess what, you’re going to get your name called in the top 5 young man, because you’re that dynamic,” Harper said.
Darnell Wright, a Tennessee right tackle, is a mountain of a man, Harper said when he pegged Wright at No. 2, and most people are sleeping on him. Harper pointed out that he held Alabama star Will Anderson Jr. to zero sacks, and overall didn’t yield a sack in 2 years.
“He’s a plug and play right tackle,” Harper said.
Bryce Young is at No. 1 because Harper called him, “A magician in the pocket, what else is there to say?”
