Rookie impact: Former standout SEC running backs predicted to have big NFL debuts

Last fall we witnessed an unusual amount of elite running backs on the field for SEC programs. Now that many of those players have moved on to the NFL, several of them are expected to make an immediate impact at the game’s highest level.
Both of Georgia’s former running backs, along with the defending SEC Offensive Player of the Year and arguably the most explosive running back in recent conference history were all listed as players that are poised to do big things as NFL rookies by ESPN’s football writers.
Based on the predicted stats put out by ESPN.com’s NFL writers, Derrius Guice and Sony Michel are poised to have the biggest impact as rookies next season in the NFL.
Sony Michel – New England Patriots
- Projected 2018 stats: 897 yards rushing; 8 rushing TDs; 27 receptions; 219 yards receiving; 1 receiving TD
Nick Chubb – Cleveland Browns
- Projected 2018 stats: 664 yards rushing; 5 rushing TDs; 12 receptions; 89 yards receiving; 0 receiving TDs
Kerryon Johnson – Detroit Lions
- Projected 2018 stats: 648 yards rushing; 4 rushing TDs; 30 receptions; 240 yards receiving; 1 receiving TD
Derrius Guice – Washington Redskins
- Projected 2018 stats: 998 yards rushing; 7 rushing TDs; 25 receptions; 209 yards receiving; 1 receiving TD
