Roquan Smith, former Georgia standout, traded by Chicago Bears before NFL deadline

Roquan Smith is on the move. The Chicago Bears have traded the former Georgia standout to the Baltimore Ravens ahead of the NFL deadline.
The Bears will receive a pair of picks in the 2023 NFL Draft in return for trading Smith.

Smith is in his 5th NFL season. The Bears selected him No. 8 overall in the 1st round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Smith’s career highlights include PFWA All-Rookie Team honors (2018) and being named second-team All-Pro (2020, ’21) twice.
Smith played in 69 games, making 67 starts, for the Bears. He totaled 607 tackles, including 16.5 sacks, along 19 passes defended with 7 interceptions.
In 2022, Smith has started 8 games for Chicago, logging 83 tackles, including 2.5 sacks, with 3 passes defended, including 2 picks.
The Ravens sit atop the AFC North with a 5-3 record. They return to action at the New Orleans Saints on Nov. 7.
