Elijah Robinson will be the acting head coach for Texas A&M’s final game of the regular season, whichever bowl game the Aggies draw next Sunday.

The official confirmation came from AD Ross Bjork at the introductory press conference for new HC Mike Elko. At this introduction, Bjork and University President Mark A. Welsh made a point to acknowledge Robinson for stepping in after the firing of former head coach Jimbo Fisher.

More from Elko’s introductory press conference can be found below:

Robinson led the Aggies to a win over Abilene Christian before suffering a respectable loss to LSU in the final game of the regular season, 42-30. More importantly, he did a fantastic job of keeping the team focused and ready to play to ensure the team a bowl bid while still giving the Tigers a valiant effort.

The Aggies finished the season 7-5 and are likely to go to one of the Music City or Texas Bowl.
