Rueben Bain Jr. chows down on barbecue gator after Miami’s win over Florida: ‘Billy Napier’s finest’
Rueben Bain Jr. and his Miami teammates on defense showed an intense hunger throughout Saturday’s victory in shutting down the struggling Florida offense.
Mission accomplished there, as the junior defensive lineman and the Hurricanes defense held the Gators to a measly 7 points in a dominant 26-7 victory at Hard Rock Stadium that kept No. 4 Miami unbeaten. Bain was in the middle of everything for Miami all night long, registering 7 tackles, 4 of them solo, and half a sack.
Florida managed its only points of the night on a third-quarter touchdown, which got the Gators within 13-7 and made things very interesting for a while. But that was all UF would manage, thanks to that ferocious Miami defense and thanks to Bain, who showed that his appetite extended well beyond the final whistle on Saturday night.
During a postgame interview on local radio, Bain was caught eating some barbecue gator, so pardon him if he had to talk a little bit with his mouth full.
Here is the hilarious clip, for Miami fans anyway, of Bain eating “Billy Napier‘s finest,” as he put it:
Miami continued to have bragging rights in the intense rivalry on Saturday night, following its Week 1 victory in Gainesville last season with a show of force in Week 4 this year. And after swallowing up Gators on the field on Saturday night, Bain got down to the business of swallowing actual gator in the locker room.
