Russell Gage update: Todd Bowles updates condition of former LSU WR after he left field on stretcher

Russell Gage was taken off the field by stretcher late in the fourth quarter of the team’s 31-14 wild-card playoff loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night.
The former LSU wide receiver was injured after an incomplete pass as he absorbed a hard shot to the neck from safety Donovan Wilson. Gage attempted to get up, but was eventually taken off the field by a stretcher. After the game, coach Todd Bowles said he has a concussion, was taken to a Tampa hospital to evaluate “potential neck injuries.” Said he was moving his fingers when he was down on the field.
It was a quiet and emotional scene on the field before Gage left. Players from both teams took a knee and prayed while medical personnel attended to Gage.
The injury came 2 weeks after Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed, suffered cardiac arrest and needed to be resuscitated on the field during a Monday night game in Cincinnati. He was discharged from a Buffalo area hospital last week, 9 days after the incident.
