Ryan Hilinski looks the part: South Carolina fans react to freshman QB’s strong start
Ryan Hilinski looks the part.
Following South Carolina’s disappointing start to the season in last weekend’s stunning loss to North Carolina, many fans were eager to see Jake Bentley benched for the touted freshman Ryan Hilinski. Turns out, due to an injury to Bentley, the Gamecock fans calling for the California native got their wish.
So far, they look like they were right as Hilinski has started South Carolina’s Week 2 game against Charleston Southern 12 for 12 passing for 103 yards with a four-yard touchdown run. Both possessions to open the game have resulted in touchdowns for the Gamecocks.
If you missed it, here is Hilinski’s first college touchdown:

It hasn’t taken South Carolina fans long to react positively to what they have seen on the field from Hilinski.
