Ryan Williams has emerged as 1 of the elite players in all of college football, and he had another solid game with 8 catches of 73 yards and 1 touchdown in the 24-17 loss to Tennessee on Saturday. However, it was a play that he didn’t make that has people talking.

With the Crimson Tide facing a 4th and 22 late in the game, they ran a screen play that had a chance to be a big play, but Williams missed a key block.

That play could have extended the drive and allowed Alabama to potentially go score the game-winning touchdown. However, the Crimson Tide had to give the ball back to Tennessee.

On the call, ESPN analyst Greg McElroy said that it looked like Williams thought he might get the ball, but then just whiffed on the block attempt.

Alabama was able to hold Tennessee to a field goal and get 1 more chance to get the win, but Jalen Milroe threw an interception that clinched the game for the Volunteers.

The Crimson Tide are now 5-2 on the season and will look to get back on track next Saturday at home against Missouri. For the Volunteers, they will be off next weekend before hosting Kentucky in 2 weeks.
