Ryan Williams on Vanderbilt rematch: ‘We’re going to kill an ant with a sledgehammer’
Ryan Williams appears to already have the Vanderbilt game circled on his calendar.
Last season, Alabama suffered one of the most stunning losses in recent memory when it fell to Vanderbilt 40-35 last season in Nashville. It was Alabama’s first loss to Vandy in Nashville since 1969. That means for the first time in more than 5 decades, Alabama will host a Vandy team that’s looking for a second consecutive victory over the Tide.
When asked about that opportunity this week by Jon Gruden, Williams didn’t mince words.
“We don’t call them ‘revenge games,'” Williams said. “We’re going to kill an ant with a sledgehammer this year. Every game that we fell short last year, we’ve definitely got red eyes going into [this year].”
