Auburn’s 2017 recruiting class got landed yet another verbal commitment Friday as in-state defensive back Jordyn Peters pledged to the Tigers.

Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn sent out his customary celebratory ‘BOOM!’ tweet following the news:

Peters ranks as a three-star prospect, the No. 37 safety in the nation and the No. 28 overall recruit from Alabama, according to 247Sports. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Peters chose Auburn over scholarship offers from Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Duke, Michigan, Louisville and Virginia Tech, among others.

As a high school junior, Peters had 89 tackles and seven interceptions. Check out Peters’ highlight film from last season to see what type of player the Tigers are getting:

Auburn is now up to 14 total commits in its 2017 recruiting class, which currently ranks as the No. 12 class in the nation and the SEC’s No. 5 class, according to 247Sports Team Recruiting Rankings.
