Saivion Smith has landed a new home in the NFL as the former Alabama defensive back has been signed by the Dallas Cowboys.

The club announced his signing on Friday. The terms of his deal were not disclosed.

Smith did not play in an NFL game last season after spending the preseason with the Jacksonville Jaguars. During his one season in Tuscaloosa, Smith started 12 games for the Crimson Tide and made a total of 15 appearances.

During his lone season with the Tide, Smith registered 60 tackles, three interceptions and five passes defended. He left Alabama with one season of eligibility but was not selected in the 2019 NFL Draft.

The former five-star junior college prospect from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College originally signed with LSU out of IMG Academy.
