The Razorbacks hope to prove in 2019 that last season’s special teams issues were a fluke after the unit was often more of a liability than a strength.
In addition to assigning tight ends coach Barry Lunney to the role of special teams coordinator this offseason, the Razorbacks did not have a coach serving in that role last season, Arkansas continues to seek upgrades to the team’s roster when it comes to special teams.
The latest such addition comes from punter Sam Loy, who is transferring in from Colorado. While Loy is transferring from Colorado, he originally began his college career at Vanderbilt. Following the 2016 SEC season, Loy was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team.
On Thursday, Loy announced his decision to return to the SEC and play for the Razorbacks:

Loy has two seasons of eligibility remaining and is eligible to play immediately next season for the Razorbacks. Loy takes the place of former Razorback punter Blake Johnson, who left the program via transfer this offseason.
