Sam Pittman and Arkansas eased past Arkansas-Little Rock in Week 1, but blew a 1st-half lead en route to a 39-31 double overtime loss at No. 16 Oklahoma State on Saturday.

The Razorbacks held a 21-7 lead in the 1st half, with the Cowboys’ touchdown coming on defense. The 2nd half was been a sloppy affair, though: 2 turnovers, a missed 41-yard field goal by Kyle Ramsey early in the 4th quarter that would have made it 24-13, a Razorbacks turnover on downs with under 7 minutes remaining in regulation, and a Cowboys flea-flicker to the fullback on the ensuing drive that put them up 28-21.

Arkansas tied it on its next possession, but the two teams exchanged field goals to send it to overtime despite some interesting playcalling by the Razorbacks. And, in double overtime, Oklahoma State prevailed after a touchdown and successful 2-point try before Arkansas failed to score on its turn with the ball.

Pittman entered the 2024 season on the hot seat. This won’t do anything to silence his critics. Here’s a sampling of the social media reaction as the Hogs let one slip in Stillwater:
