Sam Pittman has closed off Arkansas’ practices this week ahead of the Razorbacks’ game against Florida on Saturday.
The reason isn’t to try and catch Florida off guard on Saturday, but rather to eliminate any distractions for a team that has struggled over the past few weeks.
Amidst a 6-game losing skid, Arkansas fired its offensive coordinator and promoted a new one. Pittman wants to make sure his team and his coaches aren’t faced with the added pressure of having media at practices this week.
“We’ve had plenty of distractions,” Pittman said in his press conference on Monday. “I’m just trying to close it in and make it about us this week. We don’t have a problem with y’all coming to practice at all, it’s just something with Kenny in his new role and things of that nature, I’m just trying to take any type of added pressure he has off of him.”
