Sam Pittman praises running back room depth, led by Rocket Sanders

Sam Pittman knows Rocket Sanders is a talented running back who is fast and now up to 240 pounds. But Pittman also likes Sanders’ character and said he’s someone you could bring home. He said Sanders has never had an issue with a professor or tutor.
Sanders’ earlier move from slot receiver to running back was successful because of who he is, Pittman said.
“His work ethic, who he is,” Pittman said. “Just incredible guy.”
Sanders last season started all 13 games, and became one of the top running backs in the country with 1,443 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns. Those rushing yards are the fourth-most by a Razorback all time and ranked second in the SEC and 13th nationally.
Beyond Sanders, Pittman said AJ Green is a capable backup, a “really good player,” along with Rashod Dubinion and Dominique Johnson, who started the Outback Bowl.
“But he just never had the confidence to play much last year,” Pittman said. “He’s healthy, he’ll be back. So I think we’re going to have a good running back room again, but the leader of that room is Rocket with AJ being right there with him.”
