Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman isn’t letting preseason polls shake his belief in the Razorbacks for 2025.
After the program was left unranked in the preseason polls this summer, Pittman made it clear he expects this season’s team to prove the doubters wrong.
“I don’t know what the guys who never played a down predicted us,” Pittman said at the Little Rock Touchdown Club. “But I know that we have a really good freshman class. If you don’t want to rank us, that’s fine… we’ll surprise a lot of people.”
Arkansas finished 3-5 in SEC action last season, but 4 of those losses came by 10 points or fewer, with 3 slipping away in the fourth quarter.
“We got a really good football team,” Pittman said. “We’re excited to get out there and play.”
Taylen Green is back at quarterback for his second Arkansas campaign, after posting 3,154 passing yards and 602 rushing yards in 2024 with the Hogs.
The Razorbacks do face major questions at wide receiver, where six newcomers from the portal are expected to play big roles. But Pittman likes the size and versatility of his revamped pass-catching group. Defensively, eight starters return, including linebacker Xavian Sorey and preseason All-SEC tackle Cam Ball.
