Arkansas had a tough go of it on Saturday with the regards to the targeting rule, as key defender Bumper Pool will miss the start of the Texas game because he was ejected last week against Rice in the second half.

Grant Morgan was also flagged for targeting in the game.

That’s why the issue was raised to coach Sam Pittman on Wednesday on the SEC coaches media teleconference, and how it might affect the Razorbacks this week against Texas.

“I don’t know if it will affect us a tremendous amount,” he said. “We certainly have Hayden Henry there. They were both about neck-and-neck on the depth chart and with playing time. … I feel terrible about the rule. I watched the Ole Miss game and think they had 4 ejections in the first half. It’s something the rules committee is going to look at and probably needs to. … It seems like the crime and punishment don’t match a lot of the time.”
