It has been an impressive season for Arkansas, which a year after finishing 3-7 is 6-3 against one of the toughest schedules in the country.

As a result, the Razorbacks find themselves ranked 25th in the latest College Football Playoff top 25, which was released Tuesday night.

For Arkansas coach Sam Pittman, being ranked is something of a mixed blessing.

“Obviously any time that happens, you start worrying about well, (the players are) going to look at that and not concentrate on practice,” said Pittman on Wednesday during the SEC coaches teleconference. “… With us getting in the top 25 after Week 9, I think that’s a mark for our program. … I know for me and our staff, we were excited to be in the top 25 after 9 weeks.”

Pittman also added that being ranked this late in the season is a huge plus when it comes to recruiting.

“It was a goal of ours to get back on the national scene,” Pittman said. “Certainly helps with recruiting and things. … We’re trying to have (recruits) forget we weren’t a very good team the past 5 seasons or so before this team.”

Arkansas will look to stay ranked next week with a tough road game at LSU on Saturday night at 7:30 EST. The game will be televised by the SEC Network.
