Santiago Vescovi and Josiah-Jordan James both went to the podium following Tennessee’s 70-55 win over Ole Miss on Thursday.

Jordan James led his team in scoring with 20 points. Vescovi wasn’t too far behind in the scoring column, finishing the night with 15 points.

Vescovi weighed in on when the Volunteers are at their best as a unit. Tennessee had the most turnovers in the contest with 14.

“When we’re taking care of the ball and moving altogether,” said Vescovi. “When we’re all connected and on the same page I think that’s when we’re at our best. Even when shots aren’t falling I think we have players we can attack the rim.”

While Jordan James earned praise for his efforts against the Rebels, he noted how important it is to play with a lot of urgency at this point in the season.

“I wouldn’t say I feel any different right now,” said Jordan James. “The urgency we play with on both ends is necessary because it’s tournament time. It’s win or go home at this point.”

The next team standing in Tennessee’s way is Missouri. The Vols and Tigers face off Friday at 3 p.m. ET on ESPN. Missouri took the matchup the last time these teams met, hitting a buzzer beater as time expired.
