Savoring the Spotlight: Biggest Week 8 games in the SEC East and SEC West

We’re beginning to meet that portion of the schedule where teams must bring it each week and anything can happen.
There are some huge conference games for the SEC in Week 8, and SDS is going to break down who’s savoring the spotlight.
SEC East
Georgia at Arkansas: We have a couple cross-divisional games this weekend, and a good one takes place is Little Rock as the Georgia Bulldogs face the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Hogs are looking for their first conference win under Bret Bielema, while Georgia looks to stay ahead of the pack in the SEC East. Can Arkansas control the tempo, and take advantage of some big play opportunities against the Bulldog secondary?
Missouri at Florida: The reeling Tigers are coming off a beatdown at the hands of Georgia, whereas Florida is coming off a loss to LSU that featured a bizarre ending to the game. Which quarterback can make more plays? Which defense can have more success pressuring the quarterback? This should be a good one in the East.
SEC West
Texas A&M at Alabama: The marquee game in the SEC this week is in Tuscaloosa featuring an A&M team that hasn’t looked like the team we saw in Week 1 against South Carolina. On the flip side, Alabama has not looked like the Alabama we’ve come to know in recent years. Verne and Gary will be on the call for CBS, and we’ll see if A&M can move to 2-0 when it visits Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Tennessee at Ole Miss: The other cross-divisional matchup occurs in Oxford where the 6-0 Rebels and Volunteers will clash. Tennessee has lost its last two SEC games by a combined four points. An upset of No. 3 Ole Miss would be monumental for Butch Jones’ progress in Knoxville. Can the Vols have any success against that good Ole Miss defense?
