One of the teams being talked about as a possible replacement for Texas A&M in the Gator Bowl is the Florida Gators.

The Gators are set to play Central Florida in the Gasparilla Bowl, so when asked if the Gators might be up for another matchup, Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin ended that talk quickly.

“That would be too much. Our players need a break,” he said.

At this point, it looks as if the Gator Bowl may be canceled unless bowl officials can find a worthy opponent to face Wake Forest, though there appears to be several options.

That may be difficult unless one team drops out of their bowl game, or a 5-7 team could receive a waiver to play.
