Scottie Scheffler joined the College GameDay crew as the celebrity guest picker in Week 8.

One of the games the star golfer was tasked with picking was the Miami at Louisville matchup. Scheffler had a high-profile arrest at the PGA Championship in Louisville back in May, so the golfer had to reference this incident when making his pick.

“Not to bring anything personal into this with Louisville, great city, love the people, but I think Miami is gonna smoke them,” said Scheffler.

Scheffler’s chargers were eventually dropped and the golfer labeled the incident an “unfortunate misunderstanding” during a “chaotic situation.”

Other than that situation, 2024 has been a banner year for Scheffler. The golfer won The Players Championship, the Masters Tournament and a gold medal at the Olympics.

Scheffler was GameDay’s guest picker in Austin due to graduating from Texas. The golfer now resides in Dallas after growing up in New Jersey. Scheffler joins Kaitlin Olson, Marshawn Lynch, Blake Shelton, and Johnny Manziel, to name a few, who have been guest pickers in 2024.

As for the game, the 4-2 Cardinals are looking to upset the No. 6 Miami Hurricanes. The Canes have had a couple of close calls, but have managed to stay perfect so far. Miami QB Cam Ward is the nation’s leading passer averaging 369.8 passing yards per game.

If Scheffler is correct and the Canes win, the team will stay perfect heading into a Week 9 matchup against Florida State.
