According to a few recruiting services, the No. 1 overall prospect for the Class of 2017 has Alabama as his leader.
However, one service says the Crimson Tide already has the top recruit.
Scout.com has elevated five-star running back Najee Harris, who was the school’s first commitment for 2017 after verbally giving his pledge back in April during the Tide’s 2015 A-Day Game.
Still, Scout isn’t the only service that’s sending him up the rankings.
When the 6-foot-2, 220-pounder out of Antioch, Ca., gave that pledge, he was the No. 16 overall prospect, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. Now, the service has him at No. 2 right behind outside linebacker Dylan Moses.
Moses, who’s also rated No. 1 by ESPN, currently has Alabama has his leader.
As for Harris, why did Scout make him No. 1? Well, maybe his leap over a standing defender convinced them.
