Sean McDonough rips Ole Miss for fake injury: ‘Fortunately (he) survived to walk off the field’
Sean McDonough saw it with his own eyes, and he called it out on national TV.
The ABC announcer saw Ole Miss running back Matt Jones just blatantly fall down before a play during the 2nd quarter of the Rebels’ game against Kentucky on Saturday afternoon in Oxford.

Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart can be seen telling Jones to just fall down before a timeout. Dart motions to Jones with his finger to fall down on the field, and Jones does exactly that, falling to the field as if an invisible tackler for Kentucky just took him down. But that wasn’t the case, and Jones falls to the turf, seeming to fake an injury.
McDonough, seeing exactly what happened, wasn’t afraid to call the Rebels out for faking an injury.
“Fortunately, Matt Jones survived to walk off the field. Just a blatant fake injury,” cracked McDonough.

McDonough even went on to question if what the No. 6 Rebels had just done was legal. He also correctly commented that you don’t see what happened very often.
While Ole Miss was dealing with the backlash from its fake injury, it was struggling on the field, too. The Rebels allowed a touchdown late in the 2nd quarter and trail the Wildcats 10-7 at halftime of their SEC opener.
