Alabama coaches may have figured out how to get the most out of their players on Saturdays, but when it comes to producing elite NFL talent, Georgia and LSU are the best in college football.

NFL.com recently named its Top 100 players for 2016, and writer Chase Goodbread broke it down by which school can claim the most alumni on the list.

The results are:

  • Georgia (6 – most overall)
  • LSU (5)
  • Florida (3)
  • Texas A&M (2)
  • Alabama (1)
  • Auburn (1)
  • Mississippi State (1)
  • Missouri (1)
  • Ole Miss (1)
  • Tennessee (1)

The former Bulldogs who made NFL.com’s Top 100 players were:

A.J. Green (No. 16), Todd Gurley (No. 22), Justin Houston (No. 26), Geno Atkins (No. 29), Thomas Davis (No. 54), Reshad Jones (No. 64)

Goodbread notes that despite Alabama’s 18 first-round draft picks since 2009, only Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones made the top 100.

The alumni of schools with multiple players are listed here.

Do the results surprise you?
