SEC announces prestigious 2025 Football Legends Class to be honored in December

The SEC announced the 2025 Football Legends Class on Wednesday, an elite group of 16 players from each of the conference’s programs who will be honored during events in Atlanta that surround the SEC Championship Game in December.
The annual Legends Class will include 16 former SEC stars who excelled on the field and helped bolster the history of each proud SEC program. The 2025 class is unique in itself, as it includes a former Heisman Trophy winner, past national champions, All-Americans, All-SEC picks, as well as Academic All-Americans and former NFL stars. The elite 16 players helped their programs win on the field and at the highest level, with the Legends Class having players who won SEC titles and Super Bowl championships.
The class is also represented in various state, school and college football halls of fame. On Dec. 5 and 6, the class will be honored at the SEC Football “Weekend of Champions”. That celebration of this class will include the group being recognized before the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 6.
The 16-player legendary roll call includes: Alabama linebacker CJ Mosley; Arkansas safety Kenoy Kennedy; Auburn quarterback Cam Newton; Florida linebacker Brandon Spikes; Georgia offensive guard Randy Johnson; Kentucky tight end Jacob Tamme; LSU cornerback Tyrann Mathieu; Ole Miss punter William “Bill” Smith; Mississippi State offensive guard Gabe Jackson; Missouri offensive lineman Mitch Morse; Oklahoma nose guard Lucious Selmon; South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw; Tennessee linebacker Kevin Burnett; Texas linebacker Derrick Johnson; Texas A&M head coach RC Slocum; and Vanderbilt wide receiver/tight end Jordan Matthews.
