The SEC is suspending 4 players for their involvement in the on-field scuffle at the end of the Tennessee-Florida game.
The suspensions are for the first half of Saturday’s games. Florida will be without 2 starting offensive linemen and a tight end, while Tennessee will be without starting defensive lineman Omarr Norman-Lott.
The SEC suspended the 4 players after reviewing video from the final play of Florida’s 29-16 win over Tennessee. The conference says both schools were consulted.
Florida was seeking to run out the clock before kneeling down on 4th-and-16 with 9 seconds left so that Tennessee would not get another possession. UF QB Graham Mertz was hit by Omari Thomas with time still on the clock. A brief scuffle ensued.
