The SEC makes up three-quarters of the Top 8 for 5-star Phenix City (Ala.) Central wide receiver Cameron Coleman.
Six of the 8 schools left standing in Coleman’s recruitment are from the conference. He revealed the list on Monday, including Auburn, LSU, Kentucky, Florida, Georgia, and Texas A&M alongside Clemson and Florida State. It’s not immediately clear if Coleman has a commitment date in mind, but he’ll wrap up a month of official visits this weekend when he arrives in Baton Rouge to see the Tigers.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound wideout is a 5-star recruit in the industry-generated 247 Composite. He’s the top-ranked recruit from the state of Alabama and the No. 4 receiver in the class. Overall, he ranks 11th nationally.
He began the month of June with an official visit to Clemson. From there, he saw Auburn and spent the most recent weekend in College Station with Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies. He’ll visit Brian Kelly and the Tigers this weekend.
Coleman capped his junior season last fall with 31 receptions for 542 yards and 6 scores. National recruiting analyst Cooper Petagna wrote this on Coleman’s game for his 247 recruit profile:
Explosive straight line receiver that exhibits good initial quickness off the line of scrimmage and in and out of breaks at the top of the route. Possesses excellent play and verified speed, plus shows the ability to change gears and accelerate to top end speed quickly. More of a vertical threat at this stage in his development but combine tape indicates he has the ability to expand his route tree and develop into a polished route runner at the next level.
