Rookie Rewind: How the SEC’s true freshmen fared in Week 4

Let’s take a team-by-team look at some the true freshmen who made a difference around the SEC in Week 4:

Georgia: Five-star running back Sony Michel led the Bulldogs with 155 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries. Isaiah McKenzie added 54 yards on two carries, while Nick Chubb chipped in 10 on four attempts. Tight End Jeb Blazevich caught two passes for 26 yards. Linebacker Lorenzo Carter registered two tackles, one solo and one assisted.

LSU: Quarterback Brandon Harris entered Saturday’s loss in the fourth quarter to throw for 140 yards and two touchdowns on 6-of-9 passing. Facing a large deficit, Harris willed LSU back into the game and nearly completed a comeback against Mississippi State. Leonard Fournette led the Tigers in rushing yards with a 38 on seven carries. Malachi Dupre enjoyed a stellar performance with 120 yards and two touchdowns. Darrel Williams caught two passes for 38 yards, while rushing for four yards on two carries. Trey Quinn added 24 yards on two receptions.

Missouri: Safety Thomas Wilson recorded two tackles, both assisted.

Texas A&M: Quarterback Kyle Allen entered in the second half of a 58-6 blowout of SMU and threw for 130 yards and a touchdown on 8-of-15 passing. Armani Watts totaled five tackles, including one for loss. Otaro Alaka recorded three tackles, Myles Garrett and Josh Walker each added a pair of tackles and Qualen Cunningham recorded one tackle for loss.

Vanderbilt: Quarterback Wade Freebeck threw for 168 yards and a touchdown on 11-of-20 passing after entering in the second quarter for injured starter Patton Robinette. Wide receiver Trent Sherfield recorded 25 rushing yards on a reverse handoff, while Dallas Rivers added 36 yards on two kickoff returns.
