The SEC has produced more current NFL players than any other conference in America, and many of the Southeast’s former stars have continued to shine at football’s highest level.

Here are the best performances by SEC alums throughout the NFL in Week 9 action last weekend:

OFFENSE

  • Ryan Tannehill: In Miami’s dominating 37-0 victory over the San Diego Chargers, it was quarterback Ryan Tannehill that stood out for the Dolphins’ offense. He completed 24-of-34 passes for 288 yards and three touchdowns. It was a virtually perfect day for the former Aggie.
  • Jeremy Hill: Despite missing some time due to a knee injury, Jeremy Hill still dominated the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. In addition to sealing the win with a late 60-yard touchdown run, Hill amassed 154 yards on the ground and two touchdowns. His previous rushing high this season was 74 yards in Week 2.
  • Mark Ingram: With New Orleans once again thin at running back, Ingram took advantage of the heavy workload by rushing for his second-straight 100-yard game. He also had two rushing touchdowns in the Saints’ win over the Panthers on Thursday Night Football.
  • Percy Harvin: After being traded from the Seattle Seahawks to the New York Jets, no one knew how Percy Harvin would respond on the field, especially going to a terrible Jets offense. He quelled any doubts this past Sunday, catching 11 passes for 124 yards.
  • Jeremy Maclin: The former Mizzou product backed up an incredible Week 8 performance with an equally impressive Week 9 game. He helped the Eagles defeat the Houston Texans with his six receptions, 158 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
  • Mike Evans: In his best game as professional, Mike Evans carried the Bucs’ receiving game. Despite the loss by Tampa Bay, Evans’ performance is certainly an encouraging sign moving forward for the first-round pick. He tallied seven receptions for 124 yards and two touchdowns.

DEFENSE

  • Major Wright: The former Florida Gator led the Buccaneers in tackles on Sunday, racking up 13 total tackles (seven solo, six assisted). His 13 total tackles were a season-high.
  • Justin Houston: Houston makes his second-straight appearance on this list following another standout defensive performance. He recorded two sacks and four tackles in Kansas City’s 24-10 win over the Jets.
