SEC lands 17 on 2018 Sporting News All-American team, 13 first-team

The latest All-American team to be released comes from Sporting News. While the Sporting News has changed over the years, its All-American team is still recognized when determining “consensus” and “unanimous” All-Americans.

Like the other prominent teams, Alabama leads the way. Six Crimson Tide players, including Sporting News Player of the Year Tua Tagovailoa, earn first-team honors on this team. LSU and Texas A&M also land multiple first-team players.

First Team

  • Texas A&M TE Jace Sternberger
  • Alabama OT Jonah Williams
  • Alabama C Ross Piersbacher

Defense:

  • Alabama DL Quinnen Williams

  • Kentucky LB Josh Allen
  • LSU LB Devin White
  • Georgia CB DeAndre Baker
  • Alabama S Deionte Thompson
  • LSU S Grant Delpit

Special Teams:

Second Team

Offense:

  • Texas A&M RB Trayveon Williams
  • Ole Miss OT Greg Little

Defense:

  • LSU CB Greedy Williams
