When Nick Saban makes $11 million to coach Alabama’s football team, no one bats an eye. That’s because, of course, he delivers championships.

College basketball isn’t quite to that level yet, but that doesn’t mean any SEC coach is going to go hungry anytime soon.

According to data released by USA TODAY on Wednesday, five SEC coaches are among the top-25 coaches in terms of salary, led by Kentucky’s John Calipari:

  • No. 2 — John Calipari, Kentucky — $8 million
  • No. 15 — Avery Johnson, Alabama — $2.9 million
  • No. 17 — Frank Martin, South Carolina — $2.85 million
  • No. 21 — Cuonzo Martin, Mizzou — $2.7 million
  • No. 25 — Mike Anderson, Arkansas — $2.55 million

Florida’s Mike White, LSU’s Will Wade and Auburn’s Bruce Pearl occupy the No. 26, 27 and 28 spots on the list, respectively.

Salaries don’t show signs of stopping their insane growth anytime soon, so we’ll have to see which coach cashes in next.
