From September to December, writers and College Football Hall of Famers have agreed: Alabama is No. 1.

The final Super 16 poll of the season was released. The poll is the product of a partnership of the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) and the National Football Foundation (NFF) which consists of FWAA writers and College Football Hall of Famers “who were selected to create a balanced-geographical perspective.”

In addition to the Crimson Tide, four other SEC teams are ranked in the poll. Georgia falls to No. 5, below Oklahoma, after falling 35-28 in the SEC Championship Game. The Alabama-Georgia game apparently led to voters re-evaluating LSU. The Tigers move up from No. 12 to No. 10 in the final poll. No. 11 Florida and No. 16 Kentucky remain in the same spots as a week ago.

The rankings are based on points accumulate via votes. Alabama has 814 points (No. 1) while Kentucky has 93 points (No. 16).

A few other SEC teams received votes, but missed the cut:

  • Texas A&M (26)
  • Mississippi State (23)
  • Missouri (8)
  • Ole Miss (4)
  • Auburn (3)
