The Southeastern Conference released its men’s basketball players of the week on Monday, recognizing Georgia’s Braelen Bridges and SEC Player of the Week and Alabama’s Brandon Miller as SEC Freshman of the Week.
The fifth-year Bridges was extremely effective in the 77-62 win over Notre Dame, totaling 18 points and 6 rebounds in just 18 minutes of action. He was good for all 9- shots from the floor against the Fighting Irish, just 1 field goal short of setting the Bulldogs’ single-game record. This marks Georgia’s first victory over a non-conference Power-5 opponent in more than 3 years.
Miller was equally impressive, with some 36 points and 6 in the 100-90 loss to No. 15 Gonzaga. His 36 points are the most by a Division I freshman this season. He converted 54.5 percent (12-of-22) of his field goals and 54.5 percent (6-of-11) of his 3-points attempts in the contest against the Zags.
