The Southeastern Conference announced its Players of the Week honors on Monday morning for players who performed above and beyond in their Week 6 showings.
Here’s a look into how things shook out after Saturday:
Co-Offensive Player of the Week: QB Will Rogers, Mississippi State
Co-Offensive Player of the Week: WR Jonathan Mingo, Ole Miss
Defensive Player of the Week: CB Jaydon Hill, Florida
Special Teams Player of the Week: PK Chase McGrath, Tennessee
Freshman of the Week: RB Branson Robinson, Georgia
Offensive Lineman of the Week: Jovaughn Gwyn
Defensive Lineman of the Week: DE Byron Young
Rogers was among the most impressive of those as he continues shatter both program and conference records, most recently breaking the SEC record for career completions as he surpassed former Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray.
Young was also among the SEC standouts as he recorded a career-best 2.5 sacks as he helped the Vols to their largest margin of victory vs. a ranked road opponent back in 1995. Expect these players to stay hot as both have big games on the horizon in the next week of action.
