The game is a rematch from last year’s absolute thriller in Knoxville. Tennessee upset Alabama, 52-49, in one of the craziest college football games in sometime. Wide receiver Jaylin Hyatt, a current member of the New York Giants, had 6 catches for 207 yards and 5 touchdowns.
The game was won in the final seconds, as Chase McGrath made a 40-yard field as time expired to secure the win.
The all-time series in this matchup is 58-39-7 Alabama, as the Crimson Tide had won 15 in a row until the Volunteers win last year. The 39 losses to Tennessee is the most Alabama has to any program in the country.
The Crimson Tide will be entering this game coming off a closer-than-expected 24-21 victory against Arkansas. Tennessee moved to 5-1 on the season, as the Volunteers won a low-scoring affair against Texas A&M, 20-13.
Kickoff is scheduled for next Saturday at 3:30 pm ET on CBS.
