Many expected the network to choose Columbia as the destination. The Mizzou Tigers are set to welcome in the Tennessee Volunteers in a game that is expected t0 be incredibly entertaining. However, clearly, the draw of Alabama was too much to ignore.
The Tide have now won 7 in a row after losing in Week 2 to the Texas Longhorns. Since that point, the Tide have beaten Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and LSU, which were all thought to be potential upset spots for the Tide.
The Wildcats are also coming off a win, defeating the Mississippi State Bulldogs in Starkville. That win stopped a 3-game skid for the Wildcats and clinched a bowl berth.
With SEC Nation in town, the Wildcats will be looking to play spoiler while the Tide will be looking to keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive.
