SEC Nation is coming to Tuscaloosa, because when this time of the year rolls around for SEC football fanatics, thoughts of Alabama and Tennessee are sure to roll around, too.
Because it’s time for another installment of the classic SEC football rivalry known as “The Third Saturday in October,” which is also usually 1 of the biggest matchups of the entire college football season. It certainly is this year, with Alabama and Tennessee both right in the mix for an SEC and national title. This year, the longtime rivals will hook up in Tuscaloosa in a primetime 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff on ABC, and SEC Network was proud to announce on Sunday morning that SEC Nation will be there.
The popular Saturday morning pregame show on SEC Network will be staged from T-Town in the leadup to the massive showdown at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Marty & McGee will broadcast live starting at 9 a.m. ET, with SEC Nation following at 10 a.m. ET.
It’ll be a showcase of a lot of things between the 2 ranked teams, headlined by Volunteers quarterback Joey Aguilar and Crimson Tide signal-caller Ty Simpson. Both are thriving in their first seasons as the starters for Tennessee and Alabama, and they’ll be on center stage in primetime. But first, many hours earlier, SEC Nation will be center stage from Tuscaloosa for the rivalry that goes back to 1901. Bama leads the all-time series, 59-40-7.
SEC Network announced the Week 8 destination with this celebratory post:
