SEC Network analyst (and former Gators WR) Chris Doering intrigued with one candidate at Florida

Although the hammer hasn’t officially dropped on Jim McElwain, it seems inevitable that his time has come to an end as the head coach of the Gators.
And even though McElwain is still technically the head coach, that doesn’t stop everyone from throwing out big-named candidates who could take over the job if McElwain is fired.
Current SEC Network analyst Chris Doering weighed in on the Gators’ next potential head coach via Twitter, listing out SMU head coach Chad Morris as the candidate who intrigued him.
Morris, who is an offensive guru, certainly wouldn’t be the worst hire, and he’s known to put up points.
Lots of talk about Frost, Norvell and Mullen as UF's next coach but I'm intrigued about the possibility of Chad Morris taking over.

Morris is 13-19 as the head coach at SMU, including being 6-2 this season. Interestingly, Morris has many ties in Texas and is a Texas A&M alum.
Morris may be on the list, but he’s probably not too high on the list unless Florida swings and misses on a few of its top candidates. And Dan Mullen, Mike Norvell and Scott Frost appear to be three of the top.
