Dan Mullen had success while leading Mississippi State, and SEC Network analyst Marcus Spears thinks Bulldogs fans should remember that when Mullen returns to Davis Wade Stadium on Saturday.
But that doesn’t mean Spears thinks Mullen should be cheered. According to Tyler Horka of the Clarion Ledger, Spears said that Mississippi State fans can boo Mullen, but to do it respectfully.
“We’re not here right now if Dan didn’t accomplish the things he did while coaching here,” Spears said, according to Horka.

While at Mississippi State, Mullen went 69-46 from 2009-17. He won eight or more games in five of his nine seasons with the Bulldogs. He also had them ranked in the AP Top 25 poll at the end of the season three times.
But after last season, Mullen decided to return to Florida, where he served as offensive coordinator from 2005-08.
The No. 23 Bulldogs and Gators are set to kick off at 6 p.m. ET on Saturday.
