SEC Network analyst power ranks conference’s top 5 teams

SEC Network analyst (and former Florida wide receiver) Chris Doering listed his Top 5 SEC teams on Twitter Saturday night.
Raise your hand if you thought before the season began that Kentucky, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt would be listed in the Top 5 in the SEC after three weeks. Didn’t think so.
Doering and many others seem to think that’s the case. And it’s hard to argue against it based solely on results through three weeks.
Doering’s Top 5 included the following teams:
1. Alabama
2. Mississippi State
3. Georgia
4. Vanderbilt
5. Kentucky
Some of the traditional SEC powers — Florida, Tennessee, Auburn and LSU — have looked terrible lately. There is certainly a long season ahead. Most teams likely will regress toward the mean as they rack up a few losses. The questions remains, which teams will emerge as the top contenders to Alabama?
Here’s to parity.
Top five in @SEC after week 3:
1. @AlabamaFTBL
2. @HailStateFB
3. @UGAAthletics
4. @VandyFootball
5. @UKFootball— Chris Doering (@ChrisDoering) September 17, 2017
