Jayden Daniels is in elite company with his performance through the first 7 games of the season.
The LSU quarterback is drawing comparisons to LSU legend Joe Burrow after what has been a monster season so far.
Through 7 games, Daniels has recorded 2,294 passing yards, 515 rushing yards and 25 total touchdowns. To put his play in perspective, Burrow had 2,484 passing yards, 94 rushing yard and 31 total touchdowns through 7 games in the 2019 season.
While Daniels might not have the same arm as Burrow, his running game has made him a problem for opposing defenses and its led to some big wins for LSU.
“He’s not going to match Joe Burrow as a pure passer, but that right there (the rushing yards) is what makes Jayden Daniels a nightmare to scheme for,” Jordan Rodgers said on SEC Network during LSU’s game against Army. “And really I think what separates him when you start talking about the Heisman Trophy.”
LSU is up big on Army at halftime, leading 38-0, and Daniels has already notched 279 passing yards and 4 touchdowns.
