SEC maven Joe Tessitore’s six up-and-comers in the SEC for the 2015 season features a couple of surprises, notably two players in the East who have flown under the radar nationally.

Joe Tessitore’s six up-and-comers in SEC

Brooks Ellis, LB, Arkansas

“He’s my sleeper pick to lead the SEC in tackles. DC Robb Smith has a scheme that alows for the wslb to run free. Exepct him to be the Hog we’re discussing non-stop.

Dorian Baker, WR, Kentucky

“How about my long-shot pick six? New offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson loves to have a big downfield threat. Baker’s strong, impressive, a 6-3 sophomore.”

Keith Marshall, RB, Georgia

“Remember Gurshall? The combined nickname with Todd Gurley? That was applied in Athens not too long ago. (Nick) Chubb’s going to  star but Marshall could be the x-factor for Georgia’s offense.”

Kahlil McKenzie, DT, Tennessee

“He’s every bit the top prospect he was touted as and will play a role on a unit that needs him to be a force.”

Kevin Toliver, CB, LSU

“He has a real opportunity to hit the field opposite of star corner Tre’Davious White. Don’t be surprised if LSU goes with him right out of the gate.”

Calvin Ridley, WR, Alabama

“Nick Saban tried to curb the excitement over Ridley recently, but there’s no denying he’s as talented a freshman as we’ve seen in a long recent list of talented freshman receivers. And Lane Kiffin, that system often rewards precocious wide receivers.”
