If you want to last in the SEC, you have to win and win consistently. After all, 13 of the SEC’s 14 current member schools have reached a bowl in the last two seasons (sorry, Kentucky) and all 14 schools have posted win percentages of .500 or better in more than half the seasons in their respective programs’ histories.
As we spend this week looking back and appreciating the historical significance of SEC football, here’s a rundown of how often SEC teams posted .500 records or better from their first seasons through 2014:
