First-year Louisiana head coach Michael Desormeaux has apparently brought on board a key staffer from Baton Rouge to his initial staff in Lafayette.

According to The Athletic and FOX Sports college football insider Bruce Feldman, Jorge Munoz, an offensive analyst at LSU, will depart to become the associate head coach and tight ends coach under Desormeaux.

As Feldman notes, Munoz and Desmoreaux have a history together.

Munoz was on the Louisiana staff for 10 seasons beginning in 2008, arriving in Desormeaux’s final year with the program as its starting quarterback. That year, Desormeaux threw for 18 touchdowns and 1,876 yards while recording 1,035 yards and 5 touchdowns on the ground.

Following Munoz’s 1st stint in Lafayette, he joined LSU for the first time as an offensive analyst and helped guide the program to a national championship and record-breaking offense in 2019 headlined by Joe Burrow. He then spent a season with Baylor as its wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator before returning to LSU.
