The SEC was well represented in ESPN’s midseason awards. Nine of the 25 positions for ESPN’s midseason All-American team were filled by players from SEC teams.

QB Dak Prescott, Mississippi State
RB Todd Gurley, Georgia
WR Amari Cooper, Alabama
OL Laremy Tunsil, Ole Miss
OL AJ Cann, South Carolina
C Reese Dismukes, Auburn
DE Preston Smith, Mississippi State
LB Benardrick McKinney, Mississippi State

The most notable snub was Missouri defensive end Shane Ray, who is an early favorite for SEC Defensive Player of the Year. ESPN analyst Phil Steele also released his midseason awards this week.
