ESPN updated the SEC QBR (total quarterback rating) leaders following Week 1 action.
The list comprises 12 SEC quarterbacks who saw at least 20 plays of action. Auburn’s TJ Finley did not satisfy the requirement and LSU plays Sunday evening at 7:30 pm EST.
QBR takes the strength of the opponent into account, rating a quarterback’s play on a scale of 0-100. Both passing and rushing are included in the projections.
Here’s how the list shakes out:
- Stetson Bennett: 97.3
- Bryce Young: 96
- Anthony Richardson: 94.8
- Will Rogers: 82.4
- KJ Jefferson: 81.7
- Hendon Hooker: 79.9
- Jaxson Dart: 79.7
- Mike Wright: 74.9
- Brady Cook: 72.5
- Haynes King: 49
- Will Levis: 46
- Spencer Rattler: 28.6
Rattle struggled in his South Carolina debut while Stetson Bennett looked like an all-star. The significant drop off from Richardson to Rogers and Cook to King is noteworthy as well.
