The SEC is getting into the heart of the season entering Week 10 in November. The best teams are starting to separate themselves from the rest of the pack and make a run towards conference championships and even potentially the College Football Playoff.

There were big performances by teams and players in Week 9, and the conference recognized some of the top players from last Saturday.

Both of the offensive players of the week had monster games. Auburn running back Jarquez Hunter had the best game of his career, as he rushed the ball 23 times for 278 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was the star all day for the Tigers, and he helped Auburn picked up their first win of SEC play.

Equally as impressive was the performance of the other Co-Offensive Player of the Week, Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green. The former Boise State quarterback had the best game of his Arkansas career in the win against Mississippi State on the Saturday. He threw for 314 yards and 5 touchdowns. He also rushed for 79 more yards and scored another touchdown.

The co-defensive players in Week 9 were Ole Miss LB Suntarine Perkins and Texas DB Michael Taaffe. Perkins was flat out dominant on Saturday, as he finished with 11 tackles and 4 sacks. The Sooners had no answer for Perkins at any point on Saturday, and his performance helped the team stay in College Football Playoff Contention.

The Longhorns had a very difficult game against Vanderbilt, but Taaffe made his presence felt with 6 tackles, 1 FF and 1 interception. After losing to Georgia, Texas needed a bounce back win, and Taaffe helped the team get the win.
