The SEC has dominated recent NFL Drafts. On Thursday, it just meant more as the SEC became the first conference in history to have six players selected in the top 10. They came from five different teams, with two former Alabama standouts being selected early.
LSU QB Joe Burrow got things started at No. 1 overall to the Cincinnati Bengals. After back-to-back Ohio State selections, the SEC tied it up 2-2 when Georgia OT Andrew Thomas went No. 4 overall to the New York Giants. Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa followed at No. 5 to the Miami Dolphins. Auburn’s Derrick Brown was next at No. 7 overall to the Carolina Panthers. Florida CB CJ Henderson went No. 9 to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The top 10 was completed with Alabama OT Jedrick Wills going to the Cleveland Browns.
Former Crimson Tide WR Henry Ruggs III wasn’t far behind at No. 12 overall to the Las Vegas Raiders.
