SEC Shorts is back with the latest episode after Week 12, setting the scene for the College Football Playoff race with a crowded “Playoff treehouse” in a backyard!
BYU opens the episode being shoved out of the treehouse via a slide after the previously undefeated Cougars fell to unranked Kansas. However, BYU claims it will return as the champion of the Big 12 with an automatic bid in hand.
Meanwhile, Tennessee vents its frustrations about being the SEC team most likely to get left out of the Playoff in favor of Indiana. The Vols also torched IU about the Week 12 bye being one of the most difficult weeks on the Hoosiers’ schedule.
A conversation is also sparked about “quality” losses as Ohio State and Penn State have a back-and-forth about Wisconsin’s near upset of Oregon. Notre Dame also makes an appearance with NIU there to remind the Fighting Irish that they will not be able to claim that upset as a quality defeat.
A frustrated Tennessee re-enters the conversation by saying it is time for the SEC to create its own super league. Alabama also says the league might pay the price for the committee not rewarding strength of schedule.
The Vols are also just about ready to set fire to the treehouse in order to build it back “big enough for 16 teams.” Notre Dame tries to get the group to calm down just by focusing on winning out, but Army lines up for its shot to take down the Irish and deliver some chaos.
And, after Georgia delivered a spark with a dominant win over Tennessee, Hope arrives to send a wave of terror through the Bulldogs.
Altogether, it’s another hilarious episode and is a great way to set the scene for a tense conclusion to college football’s regular season. Check it out:
